Secondary Display question

Tom Mislewski

I'm trying to use my PC as a HTPC system. I've hooked my my video card
(128 meg ATI Radeon 9800 Pro) to the composite input of my television
via the card's svideo port and the svideo to composite adaptor included
with the card. After I've done that I can see icons labeled number 1 and
number 2 in the Control Panel and can see XP's desktop on my TV. I want
to use my TV as a Secondary display so I can change the settings without
it affecting my Primary display which is a VGA monitor.

When I select the inactive icon labeled number 2 and right click it I
get a small menu with the choices of Attached and Properties available
and the rest of the choices greyed out. If I choose Attached the the
icon becomes active. But when I use the Identify button to see when
display is the Primary, a "1" indicting the Primary display flashes on
both the VGA monitor and the TV. How do I activate the TV as the
Secondary display? Thanks.

My system: 3.2 ghz Northwood Pentium 4, Intel 865 PERL motherboard, ATI
9800 Pro video card. 1 gig of dual channel PC3200 ram, Windows XP
Service Pack 1.

Select the box labeled 2 and Check the box that says "extend my Windows
desktop onto this monitor" and click apply.
