Second login required to access Videos on FP2003 built Site

Another issue has popped up.

The WMP videos we just added (still unzipped) are now requiring a
username/password
to open. Please note that our family website does not allow anonymous
access - so users of our "domain" are required to log in before the site
loads. We did this due to our ISP not allowing anonymous access to servers
on the network. Therfore, the user is already logged in and authenticated.

We run SBS2003 and this HTML website is NOT a Sharepoint site - but is the
default HTTP site now on the server. This should NOT matter, because all
photo galleries (some new today also) and new web pages load and operate
perfectly. This is ONLY happening with the videos.

What must I change?

It's possible that Windows Media Player is starting a new
session to the Web server: in other words, that Media
Player looks to the Web server like a different visitor.

How are you linking to these video files? You may want to
try another of the methods described in:

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your reply. That sounds like a reasonable assumption.

These are simply hyperlinks pointing to the wmv files. When clicked, WMP
opens and before it plays - a login window pops up. Type in your
username/password and all is well.

I will check your link in the interim!

The issue is that Media Player is being launched and is creating it own connection to the web site.
You need look at playing the video from within the page in Media Player (embedded)
