second Hd

I have a problem with a second harddisk
The first hd is a 40Gb Seagate en the second will be 20Gb Fujitsu.
The problem is that the sec disk is not regcognized by the motherboard.
Changing will only result in chnged first and second one.
Thus anybody can help me ?
