SearchV still taking over

SearchV has hijacked my homepage. I have downloaded (and
used) adware and hijackthis. They detect and remove the
issues, but as soon as I log off, or shut down, it comes
back. Any suggestions other than those I've already
tried???

Help

I finally found my answer to the seachv hijack problem on
the foloowing message board:

http://www.computing.net/security/wwwboard/forum/6856.html

It turned out to be an executable file in my startup
directory, "msupdater.exe". Once I deleted this file,
and removed all searchv "garbage" from my registry using
Spybot (and Adaware for good measure), my searchv problem
was solved. It appears this executable was reloading all
the searchv "garbage" on each startup.

I suggest you search for this executable file on your
system using Explore. Once you find it, delete it. If
you're not comfortable deleting it, just move it to your
desktop and rename it. Remove all searchv "garbage" from
your registry using Spybot, Adaware or CWshedder. Reboot
your system and your problem should be solved.

Hope this helps.
