Searching Messages

Hi,

We uuse outlook 2000 on SBS 2000 for the domain.

Someone has and is sure they sent an email. We need to find evidence that
this was in fact sent and review what was sent. We may lose many thousands
of pounds if we cannot track this.

The problem is, although the person responsible for sending it is absolutly
sure it was done, they cannot find it on their machine. They may have sent
it from someone elses profile.

I have tried the advanced search searching the inbox, outbox and all the
folders. I've also tried searching the public folders which is time consuming
as it only allows one folder to be searched at a time and I cannot select
them all.

Can anyone offer advice on how I can search every single message on the
server not just in users Outlook programs? If I could go to the server and
search for keywords in all profiles and folders I could then present all the
possible emails for them to see if it is in fact on the server.

Here's hoping someone can assist.

Regards,

AJ

Probably the easiest way is to install and indexer and search engine;
either the MSN Desktop Search, or if you only want to search in Outlook
folders, install Lookout for Outlook. See

There is of course also a chance that the message got lost on the way.
It is rare, but it can happen. Spam filters also can make legitimate
messages disappear.
