searching from the address bar

like a similar previous post, my browser's search
function was acting up. it was using an alternate search
engine (sirsearch or incredifind) and i think it was also
loading an incredifind page every time there was a 404
error.

i found the IncrediFind folder in my program files and
just deleted it. this seems like a bad decision now: i
can no longer search from the address bar. i tried
resetting preferences and the like, but nothing seems to
work. help would be GREATLY appreciated.
