Searching for items in Outlook

Recently, after running SCANPST.EXE on all my used PST files, I used the
SEARCH option in OUTLOOK 2007. When I first type in my criteria in the
SEARCH box, it shows what exists regarding it in the folder that is open in
OUTLOOK prior to the search. However, when I then click on the TRY SEARCH
AGAIN IN ALL MAIL ITEMS (i.e. all the several personal folders I have), I get
the SEARCHING message displayed; ...but then it hangs, and I never get
results. I tried running repair and SCANPST.EXE on all the files again;
however, it does not fix this. What do I do? Thank you.

Please do let us know how it goes. A nice fresh index is a good place
to start though; and a good way to do that is to start it right before
you leave work (or go to bed if it's a home machine) and just let it run
overnight.

Quick question, please; I tried as you said; however, I don't see any window
or any indication displayed to show that the index is running, or when it
stops; if I leave it running overnight, how will I know when it finishes?

I believe there is usually a magnifying glass-type icon on the system
tray while indexing is active. In any event the best test is probably
to just go ahead and run your search and see if it's improved.
