search returns a blank page

I'm using IE 6 Sp2 on Xp Pro. Problem is that from time to time when I frun a
search from the url bar I just get a empty screen returned with no results at
all. Refreshing the windows doesn't help, however if I close the window and
then type in the same search terms then I get results. My default search
engine is google if that makes any difference

Try the following and see if it helps:

Restore default Search functions:

In order to restore you default Search functions, download and run the
program below. You will have to redo any customized features you may have
added afterward.

This will restore the Windows defaults for a whole lot of Search related
registry entries.

CAUTION: BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST!

Close IE, copy the bold to Notepad, save as Search.reg (save as 'all files',
and doubleclick. Answer 'yes' when prompted to add the contents of
Search.reg to the Registry:

REGEDIT4 (Watch for the line wrap. Each one should be all on on line.)
