search mail folders outlook 2007

How do I search all the mail folders at once in outlook 2007? There is an
instant search, but it does not work. I want to find all of the emails that
are from helpdesk@harvey industries.com, so I put "helpdesk" in the from box
on instant serach, and there are no matching records. I want to go to
personal folders, search all of the emails in all of the mail folders at
once, because my emails, even from the same sender, are scattered through the
different email folders. There should just be a "find" button with a checkbox
to include subfolders, but I cannot locate it.

Are you choosing to search All Mail Folders?
How longhops Outlook been installed and on what operating system? it can
take some time for a full Index to be built.

Using Windows Vista Premium for about a month or so. It is disconcerting. I
can be looking at at email, search for it, and cannot find it. I don't
understand this indexing, I just want to be able to find emails. Outlook 2003
was very easy to use in this regard.

Yes, search all mail items is set as the default. "search all mail items" is
also permanently in the search box.

Is there a way to "force" indexing or search email in a different way?

You could try going into Advanced in Indexing in Control Panel and rebuild
the index.
Also check what is being indexed from Outlook there.

It says that the indexing is complete. I checked of some additional locations
to include and chose rebuid. Anything in particular I should be looking for
in the check boxes?

I got it Bill. Thanks. I needed to choose other drives to index. I did a
bunch of stuff, but I think that was it.

Thanks for your help.
