search keeps crashing

whenever i try to use the search facility it hangs on me, It seems more
likely to hang the more information I request of it. It will search for
single files without crashing but ask it to find multiple files and it
crashes, any ideas?

To reinstall search
Copy and paste this line in the Start > Run prompt:
rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
%systemroot%\inf\srchasst.inf
It will ask for the XP CD.
