Search Folders looking in Deleted Items (Outlook 2007)

I am trying to use the new fancy color categories. Then I
want to use the "Search Folders" with the new "Categorized Mail" folder.
Problem is, it does not search Deleted Items! I right clicked on the folder
and "Customized it" to only include deleted items, but it does not work. I
move a "yellow flagged" item to my inbox and it is found.Move it back to
Deleted Items, and it is "Lost".

Any thoughts? Can someone replicate this issue (maybe as a bug) or is it a
local issue! I only have one install of 2007, and this is a 2007 feature, so
I can not check another machine.

Yep, I can reproduce the issue. Search folders don't seem to search Deleted
Items. Don't know if it's a bug or by design.

BTW, while, on the one hand, you're right, the only difference between
Deleted Items and other folders is that Deleted Items will empty when you
exit the program if a certain checkbox is checked. On the other hand,
considering that there isn't actually a warning when that happens, I
wouldn't trust that that checkbox might not get checked by something. It's
just like the old joke, how do you throw away a trash can. Well, what
happens if you *don't* want to throw away a trash can, but someone else
thinks you do?
