Search folders are retaining deleted messages

Hi,

I have a search folder pointing to my inbox with some criteria. I also have
rules set up so that any mailing list emails get moved to a particular
folder. The search folder retains these emails even though they are not in my
inbox any more.

Is there any way to change this?

Are you sure you've configured the scope of the Search Folder to only look
in the Inbox folder?
Make sure the root folder of your message store is not selected and also
that the option to include sub folders is turned off.
