to the problem of not being able to open google, yahoo and
other major search engines, ive finally come across a
solution.

it was true that this was the cause of the QHosts trojan
virus. however the page given (symantec) given by some of
the people doesnt work to well. The removal tool that is
provided couldnt find the virus in my computer and
therefore, couldnt remove it.

however after more searching, i found that this site is
much better and after using the program it has, my
problem was fixed INSTANTLY.

heres the site:::::

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I went out and purchased
2004 Nortan Antivirus software and spent hours cleaning
up my machine (not one virus found!). Your solution
worked in <60 seconds.

Domo Arigato.
Merci
Gracias

You are absolutely right. I tried the Trend Micro fix -
didn't work. I then tried the Symantec fix - didn't work.
Finally I tried the tool on the Brown University website
and it was instantly fixed.

It appears that the virus modified or added entries in the
registry and no other tool would fix the problem.

Hope everyone else reads this.
