Search Companion

For some reason when trying to make a search, it tells me
that Search companion does not have a file that need to
run and that I may need to run setup.

Anybody can tell what files are the ones needed or what
setup program is to be run. In my case Windows XP Home
edition came with the computer, and the original disk do
not have a setup program, they rather re-install all
windows again something that I would rather avoid.

Thanks for any help.

Regards.

Hi,

Fix: Open Explorer and go to the Windows\Inf folder. Locate the srchasst.inf
file. Right click it and select Install. You'll need your XP CD or the files
from the I386 folder.

The Windows\Inf folder is a hidden folder. You may need to adjust your
Windows Explorer options to show hidden files and folders. You can also
click Start, Run and enter %SystemRoot%\Inf to open directly to the Inf
folder.
