Search companion Text search

Prior to Windows XP I was able to make a substring search using the text search feature

It seems like in XP, it only matches the word

While this is nice for many cases, the substring search are very useful. Is there any way to turn it on

I tried standard wildcards to no avail

thanks

Hi

See if the free search utility Agent Ransack works better for you,
I use it instead of the builtin search (especially on WinXP, where
Microsoft has almost destroyed the builtin search if you ask me).

Download it from here:

That's good advice. I've put a shortcut for Agent Ransack on my Start menu,
and haven't used the native Windows XP Search after the first time I used
Agent Ransack. Another plus is that it's so fast.
