Search button does not work

I have Windows XP SP3 and the "search" button does not work in Windows
Explorer or My Computer. F3 does not work either.

First try:

Start>Run>cmd [enter]

At the command prompt type:

regsvr32 jscript.dll [enter]
regsvr32 %Windir%\srchasst\srchui.dll [enter]

Exit the command prompt.

If that doesn't work, reinstall Search by looking in the hidden Windows\inf
folder for the srchasst.inf file, right-click and take Install. You may need
to show hidden files from Control Panel>Folder Options to see it.
