SCSI Error

D

D. Johnson

I have W2K Server with a RAID 5 array. The following
message is appearing in Event Viewer. "The device,
\Device\SCSI\dpti2ol, did not respond within the timeout
period."

A explanation of this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It's toasted or it's not spinning up or it's loose.
Check the SCSI cable and power cable connections to the drive.
Hold it in your hand and see if it is spinning up.
Go into the SCSI bios and see if the drive is detected.
You can also run any number of SCSI utils to check on the drive;
"SCSI ID", SCSI Mechanic, are a few. Your drive manufacturer no doubt
has some sort of utils for download to query the drive status.
