Scrolling with mouse wheel

Hello,
When I scroll with my mouse wheel, the page seems to take little skips
rather than doing a smooth scrolling. I tried playing with the setting in
control panel - mouse, but it only changes from smaller to bigger skips and
is still not a smooth roll like I am used to.

I just reinstalled windows xp and the scrolling issue came up. It was
smooth before, so I assume it is a customizing thing after reinstallation.

Thanks for any input.

Hi,
Smooth scrolling was already checked. I unchecked it to see if there was a
difference and there was none. I checked it again like it was, but there is
still no difference.
The unsmooth scrolling happens with other programs such as Word too.
Thanks for any help.

Check the mouse drivers - try to recall what drivers you used before, if
your previous XP installation was an 'upgrade' or a clean installation. Some
of the previous OS's settings/drives that are preserved during an XP upgrade
are not available when doing a clean install. Try a few different mouse
drivers - including, if not installed, the XP default mouse drivers.

AM,

Most likely the video drivers. After reinstllation of XP, have you installed/updated the drivers to the same version as before?
