scrolling stops after I turn off autofilter

I have a worksheet with approx 3000 rows by 10 columns of data.
The file has been saved with the Autofilter on and one column filtered.
When I open the file and either turn off the autofilter or simply select All
in the filter that was filtered, the worksheet locks up and I can't scroll.
All I can see is what is on the screen. I can't scroll but I can edit data
in the fields on the screen.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you can't scroll it could be because of a macro running at startup
and setting the scrollarea for the sheet.
If so, ALt+F11 to the VB editor, click on the sheet concerned in
Project Explorer and clear the ScrollArea in the properties window.
