Script paging file to another partition

Hello,

Does anyone have a script handy to change the default location of the paging
file? By default it is c:\pagefile.sys. I'd like a script that moves it
to D and then leaves no paging file on C.

Anybody know how to do this?

Thanks!

Why do you need a script. It can be changed on the computer relatively
easily.

Right click on My Computer. Left click on properties and then click the
Advanced tab. Click on Settings under Performance then click the Advanced
tab. Click on Change under Virtual Memory. Click on Drive D in the box and
then set the custom size for Drive D or system managed size for that drive
then click SET button. Click on the C: drive and then click No paging file
and click Set. Then click OK and you will have a paging file on D and none
on C.

I believe Microsoft recommends that you have a minimum paging file on C
drive but right now I can't find the reference.

If you are determined, there is a command line reference here:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...proddocs/en-us/ntcmds_new_tools.mspx?mfr=true

Good luck!

Yes. Moving the page manually is simple enough. However, I'd like to be
able to script it so users can easily move their swap file or if I'd like to
deploy this script to users to have it down fleetwide. I also have a
scripted XP build that loads XP, customizations and applications via a VB
scripting process. I'd like to move the swap file to the D drive via this
build process.

Thanks for the link - I think there is a command there that will do the
trick.

Cheers.
