Script error RPC stub on printing from browser

I had to do a re-install of Win98SE over top of itself to correct virus
damage and now whenever I attempt to print from IE6 or Outlook Express I
get an "script error on line 228 incompatability with RPC stub". I
re-installed IE6 fix pack 1 but that did not solve the problem.
Obviously there is an incompatability in levels in one of the Windows
components which is being used for printing. How do I find out which
component needs to be updated? Is it RPC, or does "script processing"
mean Windows "Virtual Machine" (java?)?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I did update to IE6-SP1 with no help. I have not installed the
scripting engine. Will try it. FYI, the error I get is:

Internet EXP Script error
Line 228
Incompatable RPC Stup
Line 0
Continue running scripts (Y) (N)

I updated to the latest DCOM with no change in error.

5.6 Scripting Engine should fix it, Willie.

Copy/paste the following line into an IE Addressbar, click on GO, then
copy/paste the results into your reply:

javascript:navigator.appMinorVersion

The computer is elsewhere, so I can't get the info right now. Just
wanted to let you know that the new Scripting Engine fixed the error.

Many thanks for the pointers. There are getting to be so many
subsystems in Windows that it gets more and more difficult to tell which
ones are used by what applications and which ones may need updating.
