screwed up my video card upgrade, help!

I have screwed up the upgrade from a TI4200 to 6800 (WinXP). Now I can't
install drivers for either cards. I get the error "The I/O Operation Has
Been Aborted Because of Either a Thread Exit or an Application Request"
during the Hardware Update Wizard. I am also unable to manually install the
drivers, device manager shows a Display adapter - Video Controller (VGA
Compatible) error on reboot.

Same problem when reverting to the TI4200 card. My new 6800 installs fine on
Win98SE on the same PC (dual boot).

HELP!

Have you tried going into "safe mode" and removing the drivers from there?
Or just doing a system restore from "safe mode"??

If you are booted up into XP then you should be able roll back the driver or
at least select a restore point from system restore to a time before you
messed it up.

Go into the startup menu, and select VGA mode. Then install the drivers.

Yep, just press F8 at the appropriate time before windows loads to get
to the menu where you can select VGA mode.

No, not working. No choice but to revert to a 2 month old Ghost image.
Downloaded the latest 61.77 drivers.
