ScreenSaver Freeze-up

I've been using my photos as a slide show screen saver for a couple of years
now. A few weeks back, they started freezing on-screen. No amount of jiggling
of mouse, key strikes, control, alt, delete, et cet, would get them to go
away. Several times had to restart computer to free up screen. Finally turned
off screensaver completely. Would so much appreciate any advice on what is
going on and/or how to fix.

Check System Restore and see if you have a Restore Point that predates the
problem. This might be all it needs to fix it.
