Screensaver failure

For some reason, yet unknown, my laptop will not allow the screensaver, any
of the installed ones in Vista Home Premium to work. I can put it "to
sleep", shutdown, never tried the hibernate setup. I'd just like to know how
to get the screensaver to work.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Is your computer set to go to Sleep after 20 minutes? When is your
Screensaver set to run? The Screensaver must start in less than the 20
minutes or the computer will go to Sleep. Hope this helps. Play around with
time settings to where the Screensaver plays as long as you want it to and
then the computer will go to Sleep following that amount of time.

Ed.

I posted in a Vista newsgroup about my Screen Savers not coming on in Vista.
An MPV answered and told me that a Windows Update fixes it.
Sorry I don't remember his name to give him the credit.

So, I went to my Windows Updates and it showed three updates available and
ready to install. I installed them. He said that one was "Microsoft - Other
Hardware - HID Non-User Input Data Filter a Microsoft Other Hardware
software update released in January, 2007.

Sure enough that one fixed it and now my Screen Savers kick on.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the reply, but my sleep is set for 30 min and 1 hour, screensaver
has always been at 10 min.

Thank you Ed, I had that "fix" sitting in the optional updates and after
rebooting the screensaver is now doing it's thing.

A few weeks ago i bought a wireless mouse and after installing it, the
screensaver would never go on. So i went back to the old mouse. Is the fix
supposed to help this too?
