Screen Saver Tab Missing

I have spent parts of the last three days trying to fix a friends WINXP
PC - the Display Properties, Screen Saver, tab was missing.

After doing many Internet searches, and doing everything those searches
suggested, I still could not turn on the Screen Saver tab.

As a last resort I compared that PC against another WINXP PC where the
Screen Saver Tab displayed properly.

I found that by adding the following Registry entries:

Did you get rid of the malware that disabled the screen saver?

I scanned the PC with a number of AV, spyware, malware, etc. scanners
and could find nothing.

It may be that the user did a scan and removed it. I got the PC about
three weeks after the problem started.
