Screen Saver Problem

I noticed my screen saver had quit running.
I check in the Control Panel/Display/Screensaver Utility, and discovered
the time delay was greyed out.
All registry settings seem ok
I have no idea how this could have happened.
Can anyony suggest a fix?

Scan your system for malware.

Use the Registry Editor (Start > Run > regedit) and navigate to:

[HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop]
and.or
[HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop]
Value Name: ScreenSaveTimeOut
Data type: REG_SZ
Locate and delete "ScreenSaveTimeOut", if applicable.

Or type/copy the following between '<' and '>' in the Command Prompt:

<REG DELETE "HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop"
/v ScreenSaveTimeOut>
and
<REG DELETE "HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop"
/v ScreenSaveTimeOut>

Or download the following file to your desktop then right-click to merge the
file into the registry.
