Screen problems between TV and Monitor...

I have a Shuttle SK41G with on-board graphics - S3 Graphics ProSavage DDR.

I set up the PC using a standard 17" (1024x768) monitor months ago and once
everything was operational and installed nicely, I moved it into my living
room and attached it to the TV (800x600 and/or 640x480) using the TV-out
port, where everything has been fine for a while.

Now, moving it back to a normal monitor and the colours are all wrong!! I
tried changing the display settings, disabled the TV option, upgraded the
drivers and tried everything I could think before resorting to "Format C:"
and re-installing Windows XP. I thought it would be quicker than messing
about with drivers for days, but even with a clean install of XP, installing
the correct drivers causes the screen colours to go crazy, but the
resolution and refresh rates are fine!! If I disable the on-board graphics
in device manager and let the CPU do all the work, the display is perfect
(can't handle any games though), so the cables and screen are fine.

Any ideas???

Your comments seem illogical to me.

If onboard graphics is disabled then you must be using a graphics card in
the AGP slot. If so then the AGP card does the work and would out perform
the onboard graphics any day.

Given that I assume you mean you disabled the AGP graphics card and NOT
onboard graphics.

Sorry, I meant neither - I was talking about the drivers in Windows. I have
no AGP card installed, just the on-board graphics, which can output to TV.
If I uninstall the drivers for the ob-board S3 Graphics ProSavage DDR chip
and let the CPU do the work (standard VGA adapter), then the screen is fine,
but obviously struggles with anything more than just basic widows. With the
correct drivers (using the latest drivers) installed, the graphics are much
more powerful, the resolution and refresh rates are correct, but the colours
are just crazy!

Explain what you mean by ".. screen colours to go crazy".

Multi-coloured and psychedelic - everything looks 60s!! If you look at the
welcome screen the blue fades in circles in the top left corner. On the
shuttle, each circle is a different colour, rather than a shade of blue. Its
the same with anything on the screen - the colours are very wrong! If I knew
how to post a picture, I would attach a photo of the screen.

I have tried various driver editions and they don't help!
