scrambled shutdown screen

The system I have has no power off feature. When xpe is shutdown the screen
is scrambled rather than showing the windows "Shutdown" screen. I believe it
is actually "being displayed". May this be a driver issue?

Mark,
Sounds indicitave of your display resolution being switched out of range at
shutdown... I have seen that before. are you using a custom shutdown splash?
I would, just for giggles check the driver version with the MFR and see if
there is a newer one as well.

JC,

Can we do a custom shutdown screen? If so, how?
I thought the image is embedded in kernel binaries.

Konstantin,
I am not 100% on that, I must say... I have seen customer specific devices
in the past where there is no shutdown splash... I know in pro it's
possible, but it's a hack, and some companies choose to do it... it's
embedded in the NTOSKERNEL.exe I believe. I was inferring that this guy
might be having issue with it. good call, though. Sill sounds like a screwy
refresh frequency to me...

Yup, that was my understanding. Not a technical issue (just a resource hack) but legal issue (unless it is negotiated with MS).

Thanks for the reply!
