I've run into a problem scheduling NTBackup to run unattended.
NTBackup will only allow password-protected user accounts to run it unattended.
To access all users' files on the local hard drive, the user account must have full admin privileges.
The user account running NTBackup must be logged on, else the backup fails and a "The operation was not performed because the specified media cannot be found" error message is recorded to the backup report log.
Is there any way to schedule NTBackup to run unattended without having a user account with full admin privileges logged on? From what I understand, leaving a machine connected to the internet (I'm using a cable modem so I’m connected 24/7) with an admin account logged in is not a good security practice.
Anybody know a way around this?
TIA,
Jim
