Scheduled tasks will not run

Task Scheduler that I or third parties specify will not
run. When I view Tasks, I see "Could not Start". I am
using a password on XP Home Edition. I tried a couple of
work arounds from the Micosoft Knowledge Base. One was
checking the tasks to see if my account name was listed.
It was. The Knowledge Base 311119 said to click "Set
Password" after checking to see if my name was listed in
the "computer name\user name". When I did and clicked
Apply, I got the following error message: "An error has
occurred while attempting to set task account
information. The specific error is: 0x8007007a: The date
area passed to a system call is too small." Can anyone
help me fix this so that I can use Task Scheduler?

Hi Ellis,

Suggestions:

Go to Start/Run and type: services.msc. Scroll downt to Protected Storage,
double-click it and change it's startup type to Automatic and if it isn't
already running, click start.

Running Scheduled Tasks without a password:

For Pro: Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Local Security
Policy/Local Policies/Security options. In the right hand pane (third down).

Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only.
This is enabled by default, disable it.
