Scheduled Scan, not everything is Removed

Hi Group

I have configured the product to run a nightly Scheduled Scan.

This works great, but not all Spyware is auto-removed during the scheduled
scan, even though the "Remove" checkbox is selected.

I must go into the interface and manually choose the "Continue" button, even
tho some of the things are "High Risk" threats and the default action is to
remove.

Does anyone know a configuration change or something that will allow the
Scheduled Scan to truly remove all pests that are found?

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what is happening here. A scheduled scan is by design expected
to happen when nobody is there to hit the continue button. I would have
expected that if there were an issue of possible safety, they'd set it to
choose quarantine automatically, and continue.

Thanks for the reply Bill.

I'm with you, it seems as if the scheduled scan should auto-remove by design
malicious pests.

But, that is not what I am seeing. WinTools junkware, for example, is not
auto-removed by the scheduled scan.

Not so much looking for the reasoning of why this does or doesn't happen,
just looking for a way to configure the product to remove what it detects it
needs to remove during a Scheduled Scan.

I don't know of a way to configure the scheduled scans--I'm confused by your
mention of having set the choice to Remove--how did you do that? Is this an
issue of repeated infections/cleaning on the same machine?

Seems like it, I would go into Parrot mode Bill and suggest a deep scan in
Safe Mode at least two times.

1. Open the main GUI
2. On the "General" or "System Summary" page, click the "Scan Schedule"
link
3. R-Hand part of the "Scan Schedule" interface has a "Scheduled Scan
Options" section, with 5 checkboxes beneath
4. Checking the "Automatically remove items" checkbox setting, which I take
to indicate that when a Scheduled scan is run, items whose default action is
to *Remove* should be removed.

I am not seeing that expected behaviour.

Shows how closely I've looked at that screen!

Try this: Right click on each of those items and read the descriptions.
For "automatically remove" the help balloon refers to cookies, and cookie
scanning is disabled in the builds distributed so far.

So--my reading of the settings-if you left Quarantine checked, would be that
a high threat should have been quarantined. If you unchecked Quarantine,
and checked remove, I'd say it didn't know what to do, hence the prompt for
a choice. (i.e. there was no choice for High threats) and Remove was chosen
for cookies.

I think the logical looking UI with the hidden help balloons has "gotten"
you this time. Yuck.

Check off quarantine, and it should quarantine. You can then remove at your
leisure. The remove setting appears to have no function in the two builds
distributed thus far. Should this be better worded? YES!
