Does outlook 2007 have scanpst
%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office12\scanpst.exe
I want to have a new pst file
File>New>Outlook Data File.
can I rename old pst to archive and import it?
First you'd have to make a new PST the delivery location and remove the old
PST from the mail profile before you should ever think about manipulating it
in Windows. Second, why do you think you would ever need to import a PST?
Do yo import .doc files into Word or .xls files in to Excel? Of course not.
You open them in the application.
A better approach, in my opinion, would be to add an archive PST
(Tools>Options>Other>AutoArchive or wherever it is in OL 2007 - I can't look
right now) and allow Outlook to remove non-recent messages from your
existing PST. Certainly you can start with a clean PST, but I wouldn't
rename to old one "Archive", since that's what Outlook calls its real
archive PSTs by default. If there's stuff you want in the old PST, just
copy it into the proper folders in the new PST. Importing will lose data.
