scanning smaller negatives

I have a film scanner that does 35mm negative strips and 35mm slides. I
have some really negatives that are a smaller format. I think was
called 126, but I'm not sure The strip is about half the height of a
35mm strip.

I'm trying to come up with some kind of guide that I could attach it so
that the film strip holder would be able to take it. I have some really
great pics on there I would like to archive. I have already contacted
the scanner manufacturer to see if there was an adaptor that I could
buy.

I am tempted to tape it into a blank 35mm strip, but that would
increase the thickness of the film.

Anybody ever do something like this?

Maybe yout could build a custom film holder out a piece of black thin
cardboard. Just cut a square of the size of one frame and make a cuople
of cuts at bot sides of the square to insert and secure the strip.

It may not be fast nor perfect, but it's damn inexpensive ;-).

If you have an HP film scanner you will probably not be able to scan 110
film unless you find a way to mount it within a strip of 35mm film.
If you have a scanner that uses plastic film holders you can figure out a
way to mount the film and scan it.

You could mount the negatives in GEPE slide mounts.
Buy them here:

It may be 126, or it may be 110. I have some of each. I've been
experimenting with manually placing the filmstrip in my 35mm holder and
scanning each frame separately, then cropping as necessary. I haven't
done a whole lot with it yet, so I can't really tell you how well it's
working. I'll be interested to see what other replies you get.
