scanjet 3300C

I have HPScanjet 3300c. It does not scan but was working properly up to
a few days back. It tries to scan but the flashing horizontal light
after moving about 2.5cms from top goes back and then I get the
following error:
"An error occurred during preview. If the scanner is being used, please
wait for it to complete the task and then click preview."
Please guide how to make the scanner to scan. I updated the driver but
of no use. I have winxp home.
Any one to please guide on this problem. If this is not the right forum,
please guide the appropriate FORUM.

Device Manager show HPScanjet 3300c #3 under the imaging category. How
could I be able to make it HPScanjet 3300c instead of "HPScanjet 3300c
#3". uninstalling the driver and then reinstalling shows the same
HPScanjet 3300c #3.

Maybe the scanner has an internal problem
or possibly you simply need to clean up your
system. Try the following link:

Thanks for the links to the articles. I did whatever was possible by me
for my machine vn reference to these articles but got no success. I am
now approaching HP in the area I am living and possibly they may help. I
shall let the forum know if there is some success with their help.
However in the mean while if you have any other ideas I shall try that too.
