Scandisk Stop Error

Hi! Is there anyone that can help me with the following
problem? I have a Sony Vaio RS220 and it has a 120gb
hard drive that is partitioned into two local disks, C
and D. My computer runs Windows XP Home Edition Service
Pack 1 (5.01.2600), has 512MB ram, 2533MHz clock
frequency, ACPI Bios Revision 1002, is a Pentium 4, and
so on. I was running a scandisk on drive C where all my
windows and system files are when I got this message:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut
down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error
screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears
again follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a
driver is identified in the stop message, disable the
driver or check with the manufacturer for driver
updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or
shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or
disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to
select Advanced Startup Options and then select Safe
Mode.

i get the same thing after running chkdsk,every time i

run it after it finishes i get that message.
I just reboot and all is ok.
would sure like to have it resolved.does not seem to be
anything not working in my XP Pro..
have looked in knowledge base no luck.
what is this;
Fs_Rec.sys?

click on this akino and you will see the Fs_rec.sys

but i dont know what to do to fix it.i need a few years
of computer trainer to do what they want.wish one of
these gurus would tells us exactly whats needed in lay
terms.
