Saving Workbook

Hi,

This question probably has a very simple answer.

Problem = I have a worksheet "Weekly Runs.xls" and I do not want anyone
resaving the worksheet - but I don't want to protect the contents of the
worksheet because I want people to be able to play around with it - I just
don't want people making changes and resaving the worksheet. So is there a
settings you can set so that people can't resave the worksheet as "Weekly
Runs.xls"?

You can mark the file as readonly in windows explorer. That makes it slightly
more difficult to destroy your original workbook.

You can file|SaveAs|Tools|General Options
and give it a password to modify (not open).

This can make it slightly more difficult, too.

But if you really want to protect it, talk to your IT staff and ask for a
network share that only you have write access to--but allow others to have read
access.
