saving with word 2007 trial version

When I save a file in My Documents, it not only saves the document, but it
also saves the background and tool bars. How do I just save the document
alone. Does it have something to due with my using a trial version.

What I suspect you are looking for is the setting in Office Button > Word
Options > Advanced > Display > Show all windows in the Taskbar
Uncheck that option. It will make no difference to how the documents are
saved, only how they are displayed.
