Saving Pictures Problem

Whenever I save pictures from websites they are BMP
(Bitmaps) instead of JPEG. I have Windows XP Home
Edition, and it used to save pictures as JPEG and now it
saves as BMP (Bitmaps), now I have to convert them every
single time. Is there anyone to save pictures in JPEG
format instead of converting them because it takes too
long.

Any Suggestions?
