Saving in compatibility mode increases file size dramatically

I just upgraded to PPT 2007, but many in my office are still using 2003...so
I must "save down" in the compatibility mode. When I do this (without making
any changes to the file), the file size increases by as much as 4MB!

Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas on how to stop this bloat?

I don't know which size your PPT 2007 files are. But because PPT 2007 uses a
zipped format, and because PPT 2007 drawings like shapes with beveled edges
are saved as bitmap images, the size usually grows when downsaving.

The alternative might be to install the compatibility pack on every computer
in your office, which will enable Office 2003 to open 2007 PPTX/PPSX files.

Best regards,
Ute
