Hi. i've looked through the archives (maybe not a extensively as i should!)
to find a way to save to an external drive archived folders in Outlook (2003)
.. I;ve got approximately 8 Outlook folders containing E-mails and
attachments i would like to take off my laptop and store on an External
drive. How can i do this in Outlook (2003) please?

Thanks
John

Hi John,

PST files (also archive PST files) are unsupported on network or external
drives:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297019/en-us

If you would move an "archive PST file" on an external drive, have a look on
this site:

"How to move your personal folders (.pst) file in Outlook 2002 and Outlook
2007"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291636/en-us

Another way is to move the emails into a "Windows Folder" on the external
drive. Create the "8 folders" on your harddisk and then you can move the
email (with your mouse) directly from the Outlook folder into the Windows
Folders.

Now the email incl attachment is saved as "*.oft" file.

Maybe it helps.
