save new page and associated pictures to base web site

Hello, all;
I've made a new page for an existing website using a CSS style sheet
provided by the original designer.

When I click save, I get this message: "Because this page has a base URL
set, you will need to save any new or changed pictures to the base web site
as a separate step."

I can't remove the URL I put on the properties page, and I can't preview the
page because I keep getting the message that I have to save it or publish it.

Also, I don't know how to add a hyperlink to a menu for this new page.

Thanks to anyone willing to help me out!

You need to be in a Frontpage Website. Right now it sounds like you are
working in a folder and you have not converted that to a Frontpage website

Corey,
Thanks for your response. I am getting to the web pages via Frontpage, so I
think I am working in a Frontpage Website.

Is there any way to save the new page, short of publishing it?

So, you actually created a web site in FrontPage on your local computer?
And then created the individual pages?

You simply use File | Save after making changes to the page. You don't have
to publish it until you want.

Thanks, Tom, for your reply. I have the website in FrontPage on our local
network, and have a file of templates to use to create new pages. I've had no
problem maintaining and updating existing pages, so am familiar with the Save
and Publish features.

I think the problem is in how I've imported pictures from the local file to
the new page. According to the on-line training, I should have seen a window
about saving embedded photos, but did not. I just put the photos on the page,
some in HTML tables and one just on the page.

When I click Save, I get "Because this page has a base URL set, you will
need to save any new or changed pictures to the base web site as a separate
step."

Each time I'd select a photo and try to save it to the images file, it would
save the whole page.

Can this web page be saved?...

The best approach is to always import the images into your current open FP web / site prior to
inserting the images onto your page.

Thanks, Thomas. After putting together the page, I imported the web version
of the pictures into the FP images file. Do you think I should re-import the
pictures to the page from that file?

Yes, you need to re-insert the images into your page or you need to correct the link via the insert
image dialog.
