"Save Movie File" issue...

N

Nicole

It's trench warfare - Movie Maker style.

I had just completed a movie and saved it to my hard
drive without difficulty as a .mswmm file (as if I had a
choice...). I then proceeded/attempted to "Save Movie
File," however, when I clicked "E-mail" > "Next" I was
disapointed to find that nothing had happened. At all.

Movie Maker had not crashed nor froze, it was just...
there. I clicked "Next" again, and yet again, nothing
happened (regardless of the fact that the "Next" button
displayed the pressing animation).

Puzzled, I quit the program and re-entered it. I
attempted to "Save Movie File" again, but this time I
tried to save it to "The Web." I clicked "Next," was
prompted to enter a file name, did so, pressed next, was
prompted to select a setting (chose 'Dial up modem"),
clicked next, saw my cursor change into the time symbol
for a second or two, and was then presented with a screen
which read:

"You have successfully compleded the Save Movie Wizard
and saved your movie to the place you specified." "Play
movie when I click Finish."

....the thing is, I was not prompted to select a specific
location to save the file on the web.

If it helps at all, I am operating Windows XP Home
Edition, have downloaded all critical updates, and the
movie I wish to save is 4:07.67 minutes long.

I know something is wrong, but since I had successfully
saved a file to e-mail not long ago using the same
method, I have no idea what could possibly be wrong. I
was wondering if anyone else had experienced this
problem, or if anyone can instruct me on how to fix it.

P.S. Please forgive me if this issue has already been
addressed, but I have been looking it up on the net for
hours without finding a solution, and am quickly losing
what little patience I had to begin with. =P

Thank you in advance,

- Nikki

You have saved a project, NOT a movie.

From the toolbar on the left hand side, you need to select Save to my
Computer under Section 3.

If you have a four hour movie, you're looking at a file size of somewhere
about 50gb. Yes GIGABYTE, in the best resolution of DV-AVI format.
