SATA Drives and Parallel Drives in Same machine?

Planning a new computer. Most MOBO's use SATA HD's internal. I want to use
my DVD burner (parallel) and my two 200 GB parallel external HD's (via USB
ports) in the upgraded machine. Is that possible? What about the floppy
drive and other Optical drive in the current machine? Are there Serial
versions of those, or will my old drives work with the new MOBOS?

Not a problem having both in the same machine.
