sata device drivers on install

hi i have tried for 4 days now to install 64 bit vista, Usually getting
confused and stuck at the early parts of the install when it asks for a
driver. I dont know if it wants a driver for the HDD, the dvd drive, the
motherboard. Everything is connected via SATA. why doesnt vista come with
this sort of stuff allready on the disc? What driver do i need and where do i
find it?
