SATA A7N8Xdeluxe main board problems

Just picked up a Maxtor 160gig SATA hard drive.
I have been trying to load it up. The bios and windows do not recognize it.
The question I have is: The drivers for the SATA controller on the disk are
supposed to be on a floppy
I didn't get a floppy with my board. So I down loaded the drivers from the
Nvidia site. My problem is when I tried to install it, it says it's for SATA
Raid. Is that the same thing as the SATA controller or is it just for the
Raid Controller?
I tried to load it through the Windows setup press F6 go add device (i
can't remember exactly) press S
it asks for the floppy. (I copied files from the driver file I downloaded
from Nvidia on to it) It show's two choices both of them were Raid SATA.
TIA folks

Could it possibly be the one that says Windows XP? As you have not
actually told us what your OS is, I'm guessing.

nVidia do not supply drivers for Silicon Image controllers on Asus boards.
My problem is when I tried to install it, it says it's

Your SATA controller is a SATA RAID controller. They are one and the same
thing. You do not HAVE to use RAID, but since your controller is a RAID
controller, you must use the driver for the RAID controller.

Yes, but only one of them is for your OS... it's the one that says it's for
your OS.

This one is for Windows XP, thats why it says "for Windows XP". It's not a
trick.
