Same Internal Domain Name

Sam

Hi

My domain network is of 2 DCs(WIN2K SERVERS) and about 20
workstations. Internal domain name is exactly same as
registered one. So far there is no published web site but
soon there will be one.

1. Will I have problem going to outside published web site
from my network (all servers and workstaion's DNS is my
local DNS server, where I have forwarder setup)?

2. If yes, is there any workaround ?

3. If no, can I easily change internal domain name?

4. If I have to change domain name, do I need to go on
each workstation to join the new domain?

Thanks x 4

Add the records from the public site, such as www with the IP needed to
access the site.

Not at all in Win2k, and not in Win2k3 if Exchange is in the Domain.

Since you can't rename a Win2k domain you would have to build a new domain
and yes, you would have to migrate the machines and users to the new domain
or re-add them to the new domain and recreate all user accounts.
