Same chipsets_different boards_one OS

Presuming the chance in my last post that my ASROCK k7s8xe+ board is
toast...

I often do board swaps on XP Home with the repair install to great success.
In this instance, however, since the ASROCK board has the SiS 748 chipset
and the Foxconn 748K7AA board does as well (even the other bridge has the
same chip, IIRC) what are the chances that I can just let Plug and Pray take
care of things?

I've been looking at this Foxconn board for a while as I like the k7s8xe
features a *lot* and the Foxconn seems to draw on them all as well. A guy
nearby was selling lots of them for a while and seemed happy with them,
though I have not read many comments on line. Any experiences with Foxconns?
Any ideas on the difference between Foxconn 748K7AA and the 748K7AA-ERS
besides the $20?

One last one... Has anyone had any experience to report on ASROCK and RMAs?
I seem to remember that this was a 3 year board, but INFOTECH's site says
contact manufacturer after 90 days. Any tips on getting satisfaction from
ASROCK on this board?

Thanks again.

Not sure what you mean there... maybe I could have written better as it was
way past my bedtime <G>

The board is 1 yr and 1 month old. What thought I was remembering was that
it had a 3 yr. warranty?

Unortunately you had no experience or unortunately you had a failed
experience?

;-)

Thanks again.

U R welcome. UnFortunately I have no tip.
I have experience with the ASRock K8S8X (SiS755 chip) which runs
satisfactorily only with a higher BIOS version.

When swapping mainboards with different chipsets I sometimes switch
from ACPI to Standard PC before swapping - thus foregoing the Stand-By
functionality...
