Safe to Delete?

I had installed a program called Registry Mechanic 6.0, but now I have
uninstalled it. I've noticed some files which seemed to have appeared with
the installation of Registry Mechanic.

These are:

in folder system32/config:
default.rrr
sam.rrr
software.rrr

in folder Documents and Settings\[User]\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Windows
s-1-5-21-1482476501-2025429265-682003330-1003_classes.rrr

in folder C:\
s-1-5-21-1482476501-2025429265-682003330-1003.rrr
ntuser.dat

I have searched the web, but have not been able to find much about what
these files are for and whether or not it is safe for deletion. What that the
file extension 'rrr' mean?

I would like to delete them. Is it safe to delete all these files? If not
all of them, which ones can and which ones can not be deleted? Also would it
effect the OS? I'm using windows xp pro.

Regards,

Mike

Thanks for your reply DL.

My system is functioning ok. I like to remove traces left behind by programs
after uninstalling them, no matter how unimportant it may be. Anyway the
reason is irrelevant, I'd like to delete them, hence the question.

Regards,

Mike

As a general guide if you didn't create a file or don't know what it does,
don't delete it. I've had a good laugh at people who decided they didn't
need "fonts", and deleted the directory.

I'm sure there are plenty of unused files on you PC left behind that you
don't know about.

In any case, it's probably better to contact the peope who made the software
and ask them. For all you know their program didn't create the files.
