SAFE MODE Problem

When I try to boot into safe mode ) with F8), The computer loads down to
where it tries to load a file called "MUP.SYS", then it goes no farther.
Any suggestions?

How about call microsoft and get hot fix

Sorry;
The hotfix does not apply to my version of Windows. I have Windows XP Home
Edition. That hotfix applies only to Windows 2000 SP4. Microsoft says not to
use it at all with XP.
Any other suggestions?

I have the information I needed now. Apparently my problem is with a USB
device trying to load.
