Runtime Error in Outlook 2002

I

Ian

When I start Outlook I get the following error box:

""MS Visual C++ - Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10
\OUTLOOK.EXE
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way. Please contact the application's
support team for more information.""

The only option is OK which closes Outlook. If I
immediately reopen the program it works perfectly.

I believe the problem may be related to Norton
Internet Security 2004 which I have installed, however I
have seen no answer/suggestion to overcome this annoying
problem. Pls help.

I have managed to find a work around. The article Roady
mentioned is related - the problem lies with the Norton
Anti-Spam Outlook plug-in from Norton Internet Security
2004.

This is impossible to turn off using the normal outlook
method of deleting the add ins via the COM options on the
advanced options page. If you do this it re-appears again.

The solution is to rename the file MSOUPLUG.DLL (I used
MSOUPLUGdonotuse.DLL) this then prevents the anti-spam
plug in from launching snd the runtime error does not
happen. Although not ideal this does work. Next step is to
get Symantec to do something about this, however base don
other posts I have seen this may take a while.

Hope this helps,

Ian
